Navy Arvo: So what is a Navy Arvo?
The Navy Arvo originated from a desire by some H.M.B.C members to have an opportunity to sail naval vessels together without being dependent on any particular scale, which would allow our members to construct a wide variety of naval ships and auxiliaries.
Navy Arvos are held on the 1st Saturday of each month commencing at about 11am until the members have had enough, usually 3-4 hours.
Our Members have built ships that represent the navies of Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Russia, Germany, Italy, China, Japan, Finland and Sweden, in scales ranging from 1/100 through to 1/96. These ships represent periods from WW2 through to the modern vessels of today's navies, with classes of ships including battle ships, destroyers, cruisers, frigates, carriers, fast attack vessels and fleet auxiliaries.
The afternoons are relaxed affairs where we talk naval matters, model ships, construction techniques and learn from each other's models, all in an atmosphere where we can have a joke and a laugh.
Our Objective - Have Fun
Further information about previous running days and ships within our fleet can be found on the club's website.
